A Brief History . . .

Grace Evangelical Free Church was founded in 1978 with 36 charter members as a result of a desire to have another evangelical church

on the Iowa side of the QCA.

- The land was purchased in December 1979, and the first building was erected in 1984.

- Pastor James Anderson served the church for the first eight years.

- Pastor Arnold Conrad came in June 1987 and served until the beginning of 2005.

- In 1988 Youth Pastor Dan Doebel was hired and he served until 2015.

- The education/gym building was completed in 1995.

- A new youth center was added in 2005 on the north of the gym.

- Pastor Bob Bressert joined Grace E. Free in September of 2005 as our new Senior Pastor.

- Worship Director Matt Vogel came in 2008, and took over the Youth Pastor role in 2012.

- Pastor Bob retired in the Summer of 2021, Pastor Matt Vogel took his place as Senior Pastor.

- Joshua Claeys was hired as the new Director of Worship and Visual Arts in the Fall of 2021.

- Markus Murphy was hired as the Youth Pastor in the Winter of 2024.

- Cameren Martinez was hired as Worship Pastor in the Summer of 2024.
